Natural Gas Purification
In this line of research, the technical and economic feasibility for natural gas and biogas (from solid residue) purifications is investigated by computer simulation using the aspenONE® Engineering. The non-conventional solvents (ionic liquids, DES, polar aprotic solventes) are used to extract CO2 and H2S from CH4.
This investigation results from real problems in the Brazilian case, e. g., the Jupiter Basin (Pre-salt) have a very high carbon dioxide content of the field’s gas, which is estimated at 79%, according to various industry sources.
